Shirley Ann (Simpson) Wright

Shirley Ann (Simpson) Wright, age 79 of Danville, IL went to be with the Lord at 8:04 a.m. on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family as she passed. Shirley was born on August 27, 1938 in Delta, CO. She was the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Frey) Simpson. She had resided in Danville, IL since 1964. On May 1, 1955 she married John Dea Wright in Goleta, CA. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2007.Shirley worked for General Electric in Danville for several years. She was the queen of bargain shopping. She loved her dogs and playing games on the computer. Shirley also loved to dote on her grandchildren. Surviving are, 4 daughters, Debra Price (John) of Danville, IL, Diana Kaelin (Kenneth, Jr.) of Tilton, IL, Dana Sanders (Bryan) of Westville, IL, and Doris Williams (Archie) of Urbana, IL; siblings, Allen Simpson of Gotebo, OK, Richard Simpson of Collison, IL, and Sandra Morain of Grain Valley, MO; 7 grandchildren, Heather Leary, Misty Sandlin, Christina Loutsos, Jessica Loutsos, Justin Price, Amanda Henthorn, and Maylea Williams; and 13 great-grandchildren.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and has now joined the love of her life, her husband. Visitation will be at Faith Baptist Church, 920 Warrington Avenue, Danville, IL on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. CST until service time at 2:00 p.m. CST with Pastor Al Rudie officiating. Private interment will be at Danville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to C.A.R.A. (Citizens for Animals Rescue and Adoption) in Tilton, IL.
