Sheryl K. (Tanner) Briles

Sheryl K. (Tanner) Briles, 75, and lifelong resident of Williamsport, IN passed away at 9:33 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Sheryl was born July 15, 1943 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Michael and Richardean (Jones) Tanner. She married Dick Briles February 7, 1978 in Hawaii and he survives.

Sheryl was a 1961 graduate of Williamsport High School and later graduated from the Lafayette Beauty Academy. She was a self-employed hairdresser out of her home for 40 years. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and participated in a bowling league. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, baking, spending time with her beloved poodle Toby, and loved to support numerous charities including the Ronald McDonald House. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family.

Children, Mike Holen (Shannon) of Williamsport, IN and Minde Holen Shinnick (Mike) of Naples, FL;

Step-children, Shawn Briles (Justine) of Williamsport, IN and Shelley Briles Crane (Larry) of Williamsport, IN;

Siblings, Terry Tanner of Crawfordsville, IN, Robert Tanner (Cindy) of Covington, IN, Mark Tanner (Judie) of Williamsport, IN, and Rick Tanner (Donna) of Crawfordsville, IN;

Grandchildren, Madeline Holen, Andrew Shinnick, Abby Shinnick, Jacob Honaker, and Brandon Briles

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Duane Mycroft officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Township Library to purchase books in Sheryl’s name.
