Martha Rose (Salts) Burleson

Martha Rose (Salts) Burleson, age 79 of Covington, IN, passed away at 3:57 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020.   Martha was born on August 28, 1940 in West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Harry M. Salts and Helen Bernice (Garrison) Salts. Martha was a graduate of West Lebanon High School. She married George William Burleson on January 9, 1957 in Williamsport, IN and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2008.  In 1972 she moved to Covington from West Lebanon and has resided there since.   Martha worked at RMC in Attica, IN for several years. She enjoyed reading books and garden work. Martha had an immaculate yard with many bird feeders to enjoy bird-watching.     Surviving are, Children, Sherri Burleson of Crawfordsville, IN, Stephen Burleson of Covington, IN, and Lorri Burleson of Crawfordsville, IN; Siblings, Harry Wallace Salts (Tamra) of Attica, IN, John W. Salts (Lyndall) of Williamsport, IN, Jack D. Salts of Covington, IN, and Jane Ellen Byers (Steve) of West Lebanon, IN; 10 Grandchildren; Several great-grandchildren   Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Lisa Shoaf; sister, Jenne Lou Goble; and grandson, William Todd Burleson.   Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home, 110 S High Street, West Lebanon  IN  47991 on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
