Marilyn Jeanette (Hollis) Larson

January 4, 1939 — December 31, 2021

Marilyn Jeanette (Hollis) Larson, age 82 of Williamsport, IN, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family at her residence at 4:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021.

 

Marilyn was born on January 4, 1939 in Fountain County, IN.  She was the daughter of Ivan Harold and Mary Louise (Larson) Hollis.  She attended Rainsville schools and Pine Village High School and later received her G.E.D.  She was a lifelong resident of Warren County.  She married Delmar Wayne Sturgeon in 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1976.  She married Richard “Dick” Larson on January 7, 1978 in Pine Village, IN and he survives.

Marilyn worked at Essex Wire in Fowler, IN and later R.M.C. in Attica, IN. She also sold home interior products. 

Marilyn was a member of the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church.  She was a Cubs Scout leader for her son, Mark.  Marilyn enjoyed playing bunco and euchre card games.  She loved to read and enjoyed camping. Marilyn was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports.

Children, Pamela J. Dadacz (John) of Oxford, IN, Mark Sturgeon of Oxford, IN, Robin Larson (Barb) of Williamsport, IN, and Lori Cooper (Frank) of Williamsport, IN

Siblings, Betty Keller (Bill) of Lafayette, IN, Bill Hollis (Shirley) of Otterbein, IN, Pat Hollis of Pine Village, IN, Phyllis Byers of West Lafayette, IN, Aileen Hollis of West Lafayette, Kathy Overshiner (Marvin) of Lafayette, IN, and Harold Hollis (Lisa) of Attica, IN;

1 brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Herb and Janice Larson of Kramer;

13 grandchildren, Chad VanLeer, Correna Jo Ellis (Shaun), Jessie Sturgeon, John Ryan Dadacz (Katie), Scott Dadacz (Elizabeth), Steven Dwenger (Laura), Morgan Van Dame, Jeffrey Sturgeon (Janna), Curtis Sturgeon (Jessica), Jeremy Sturgeon (Lacey), Austin Cooper (Brittani), and Ashley Cooper (Josh);

23 great-grandchildren

 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her sons, Randy Sturgeon and infant Jeffery Sturgeon; daughter, Diana Van Dame; 2 brother-in-laws, Larry Byers and Eddie Gibson;

1 sister-in-law, Mary Jo Gibson; and granddaughter Chasity Russell.

 

A celebration of life will be held at Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor J. David Adams and niece Pastor Brenda McIntosh officiating. Inurnment will be at Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to A Better Way Food Co-Op or Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church.
