Leslie "Les" M. Geisert

Leslie “Les” M. Geisert, age 80 of West Lebanon, IN passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Autumn Trace in Attica, IN.

Les was born on April 29, 1942 in Aurora, IL.  He was the son of Stanley and Ann (Werner) Geisert.  He grew up in Terre Haute, IN before moving to West Lebanon.  He was a 1960 graduate of Otter Creek High School in Terre haute, IN.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, serving on board the USS-ESSEX during the Cuban Crisis.  On November 5, 1967 he married Karen Gooden.  She survives.

Les worked for International Harvester in Terre Haute, IN.  He later farmed for his father-in-law, and owned and operated the Geisert Service Station in West Lebanon.  He worked for the Millennium Supply in Attica, IN.  He drove a school bus for MSD of Warren County for many years.  Les served on the West Lebanon Fire Department.  He loved being with his family, eating out with them on many occasions, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in sports and band.  He enjoyed working Sudoko puzzles, playing solitaire on the computer, and was an avid golfer.  He had many friends and knew everyone.  Les loved his fellowship with the hardworking men of the community and making his “high octane” coffee for them.  He liked to work and rarely missed a day. 

Surviving with his wife, Karen, are, children, Dianne Owens (Mike) of Heyworth, IL and Gary Geisert (Deanna) of rural Attica, IN; grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob and Caleb Owens, Shayla Lucas (Caleb), and Sadie Geisert; and siblings, Charlene Foxworthy and Stan Geisert (Saverne) both of Terre Haute, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy Geisert, and sister, Miriam Gray.

Services are at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ian Costandi officiating.  Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to West Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department.
