Joseph "Larry" Anderson

Joseph “Larry” Anderson, age 73 of Crawfordsville, formerly a life-long Warren County resident, passed away at the Waters of Covington on Monday, May 8, 2023.

 

Larry was born on November 16, 1949 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Joseph Liston and Roberta Louise (Balser) Anderson. Larry was a 1969 graduate of Seeger High School. He married Gertie (Cooper Smith) in May of 1975. They were blessed with 3 children and they later divorced.

 

Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked at Kroger, Wabash National, Morgan Trucking, and the VA in Danville.

 

Larry was a lifetime member of the Attica VFW. He attended Judyville United Methodist Church. Larry enjoyed bowling at the local bowling alleys, including Attica, Crawfordsville, and Lafayette. He enjoyed cutting firewood, playing euchre and solitaire, and watching westerns, especially John Wayne films and Walker Texas Ranger.

 

Surviving are,

Mother, Roberta Anderson of Crawfordsville, IN;

3 children, Jennifer Fennig (Scott) of Fort Wayne, IN, Jeff Anderson (Amanda) of Bismarck, IL, and John Anderson (Jennifer) of Williamsport, IN;

1 sister, Linda Sue Wilson (Edwin) of Crawfordsville, IN;

1 brother, James (Cathy) Anderson of Mt. Washington, KY;

6 grandchildren, Austin Fennig, Kendra Fennig, Lucas Anderson, Sierra Anderson, Kyra Anderson, and Logan Anderson

 

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Liston Anderson and grandfather, Joseph Glenn Anderson.

 

Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the VA National Cemetery in Danville, IL at a later date.
