Gary Lee Arrasmith

Gary Lee Arrasmith, age 59 of Williamsport, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his home. Gary was born on January 19, 1964 in Paris, IL. He was the son of Walter Bus Arrasmith and Betty Joan (Griffin) Blaker. He graduated from Paris High School in 1982. Gary married Ruth Ann Dodson Staub on July 28, 1985 and they later divorced. He spent his early years living in the Paris, IL area and resided in Williamsport, IN later in life. Gary spent the majority of his career as a machinist at TMF Center in Williamsport. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Gary loved riding his Harley and enjoyed drinking. He always said “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.” Gary spent his Friday nights with friends playing poker. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball, never missing a game. Surviving are: Mother, Betty Joan (Griffin) Blaker of Jacksonville, FL; 2 sons, Shane L. Arrasmith (Courtney) of Lake Park, GA and Adam J. Arrasmith (Alexis) of Williamsport, IN; 3 sisters, Teresa Wright (David) of Jacksonville, FL, Vivian Barnett (Henry) of Jacksonville, FL, and Valarie Hutson (Roy Bainbridge) of Paris, IL; 4 grandchildren, Sydney Lynn, Mckinley Lynn, Sophia Leanne, and Achilles Lee Gary was preceded in death by his father, Walter Arrasmith and brother, Daniel Arrasmith A celebration of life will be held at Grady Funeral Home, 111 E Monroe St, Williamsport, IN 47993, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until service time at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at the VA National Cemetery in Danville, IL at a later date.
