Elvin Wade Weltzin Jr.

Elvin Wade Weltzin Jr., of Williamsport, Indiana passed away on April 22nd, 2026, at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette. 

He was the son of Wade Sr., and Ethel Weltzin. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Diana Balser (Bob), Nancy Willhite (Greg), and Connie Williams (Harlan).

Surviving are two sisters: Peggy Anderson (Jerry) and Bonnie Blessing (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his wife of almost 65 years Rosalie; daughter: Kathy Schroeder; son: Dan Weltzin;  grandchildren: Samantha Schroeder, Casey Schroeder (Whitney); great-grandchildren: Ryleigh, Adelyn, Bryson.

Elvin graduated from Otterbein Highschool and attended IvyTech. He was employed at C & D Batteries for 35 years and Harrison Hills Golf Course in Attica for 18 years. He attended Williamsport Christian Church. He refereed basketball and umpired baseball in Williamsport. He was also a volunteer reserve Deputy for Warren County Sheriff's Dept. for 15 years. 

Elvin excelled in sports at Otterbein in basketball, baseball and track. He also played for Lafayette Columbians semi pro baseball league. After Highschool, he was an avid golfer who won many club championship rings. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  

The funeral service for Elvin will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service.
