Edna Jean “Jeanie” (Hancock) Ardire, age 89 of West Lebanon, IN, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanie was born on August 10, 1933 near Clinton, IN. She was the daughter of Ernest and Eunice (Ralls) Hancock. Jeanie attended Danville High School. She met the love of her life, Jim Talbert, and they shared many wonderful years together. Jeanie worked as a seamstress, first at Windbreaker in Danville, IL and later at the Sewing Factory in Covington, IN until her retirement. Jeanie loved to do puzzle books, enjoyed dancing, and loved listening to old country music, especially Conway Twitty. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Surviving are: 3 children, Donald Gay (Loretta), Charles Towle, and Tammy Towle Kasiska; 3 step-children, Kelly Calvin (Kenny), Bobby Fox, and Tanzy Sturgeon; 1 sister, Diane Hancock Jumps (Richard); 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; Special friend, Tonya Farrar Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son in law, Robin and Mont Burton; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
