Donna E. (MacKay) Yates

Donna E. (MacKay) Yates, age 84 of West Lebanon, IN passed away at 3:09 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born on May 10, 1939 in Hinsdale, IL. She was the daughter of James and Velma (Foreman) MacKay. Donna was a 1957 graduate of Downers Grove High School. After graduation, she received her computer operator certification from IBM. She later received her insurance broker license. Donna had lived in Chicago, IL and later Indianapolis, IN before moving to West Lebanon where she had resided since 1975. She married Charles Jerome “Chuck” Yates on September 8, 1961 in Berwyn, IL and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1993. Donna previously worked at Robbins Market in West Lebanon. She later worked at the Warren Agency as an insurance agent until her retirement in 2016. Donna was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Lebanon. She enjoyed all kinds of DIY projects, including refinishing furniture, wall-papering, and ceramics. Donna also enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her granddaughter. Surviving are: 2 children, Kelly J. Yates of Chicago, IL and Scott A. Yates (Jessica) of Williamsport, IN; 1 granddaughter, Mackenzie Yates Donna was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Corps. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with brother Stuart Powell officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to West Lebanon Trinity Presbyterian.
