David "Dave" Lee Cushman

David “Dave” Lee Cushman, age 82 of West Lebanon, IN went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was born on November 21, 1938 in Veedersburg, IN.  He was the son of Alva and Eva (Baker) Cushman.  He was raised in Veedersburg, IN, moving to West Lebanon in 1966.  He graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1957. He married Ella May McBrian in West Palm Beach, FL on December 26, 1981.  She survives.

Dave worked from Hyster Forklift Company, retiring in 1993.  He also built, remodeled and resold homes.  He was an active member of the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene for more than 30 years, and had served on the church board as trustee.  He enjoyed Indiana Hoosier basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.   He loved reading and read his Bible every day. 

Surviving with his wife, Ella, are, 3 stepchildren; sister, Nelda Byers of Rossville, IN; sister-in-law, Carol Cushman of Hillsboro, IN; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Gene Cushman and Dale Cushman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene, 501 S. High Street, West Lebanon, IN  from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pearce officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene.
