Cindy L. (Karger) Helton

Cindy L. (Karger) Helton, age 58 of Lafayette, IN died at 3:38 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Cindy was born in Lafayette, IN on May 26, 1959. She was the daughter of James S. and Dinah L. (Beam) Karger. She graduated from Palmdale High School. She lived in Lafayette before moving to Attica where she resided from 2000-2013 before returning to Lafayette, IN. On February 18, 1989 she married Ernest David Helton. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2013. Cindy worked as an apartment manager for several years. She enjoyed cooking, lighthouses, and the ocean. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She was loved by many and will be truly missed. Surviving are, mother, Dinah Karger of Lafayette, IN, children, Brian Karger of Lafayette, IN, David Helton of Lafayette, IN, and Dylan Helton (Hannah) of Terre Haute, IN; and siblings, Karen K. Beard of Lafayette, IN, “Hap” James S. Karger, Jr. (Brenda) of Lafayette, IN and Phillip Dean Karger (Peggy) of West Lafayette, IN.  Cindy was preceded in death by her father and husband. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
