Brenda J. (Murray) Butler

Brenda J. (Murray) Butler, age 72 of Williamsport, IN, went to be with the Lord at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at her home.

Brenda was born on November 20, 1949 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of William Cyril Murray and Jewell (Sells) Murray Vaughn. Brenda was a 1968 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a life-long Warren County resident.

Brenda had previously worked at the Beef House in Covington and later Alcoa in Lafayette. She retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Brenda was a devoted and giving member of the Williamsport Christian Church and loved her church family and worshipping. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Brenda enjoyed baking and crafts. She made her own homemade cards that she sent to people as her ministry. Brenda loved supporting her grandchildren at their events.

Surviving are,

3 children, Paul Jason Spell (Christina) of Tupelo, MS, Randi Renay Butler of Nashville, TN, and Melissa Elaine Lanham (Bryan) of Independence, IN;

1 brother, Bill Vaughn (Joy) of Brownsburg, IN;

3 grandchildren, Brier Lanham, Sierra Lanham, and Trae Lanham;

1 step-granddaughter, Seana Lanham;

2 great grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor, and 1 on the way

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Edward R. Vaughn; and sisters, Myrna Synesael and Sharon Stover.

Visitation will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until memorial service time at 3:00 p.m. with Minister Jesse Stoner officiating. Inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church for the new marquee sign.
