Barbara E. Coffman

Barbara E. (Cox) Coffman, age 89 of Pine Village, IN died on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Cumberland Pointe Health Center. Barbara was born in Portland Arch, IN on January 6, 1928. She was the daughter of Russell and Linda (Clark) Cox. She graduated from Attica High School in 1946. On July 3, 1947 she married Charles M. Coffman. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2013. Barbara was a homemaker. She also worked as a secretary at Harrison Steel and later as a cook at the Pine Village Schools for 36 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and member of the Home Economics Club, National Campers and Hikers Association, and AARP. She enjoyed camping and singing for church activities. She also loved to crochet and do other crafts. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Jill Ann Comer (husband: John) of Pine Village, IN; 1 son, Randal David Coffman (wife: Lisa) of Pine Village, IN; sister, Judith Ann Cox Sloan (husband: Roy) of Lafayette, IN; 3 grandchildren, Cammi Comer (fiancé: Bram Wahl), Stacey Sims (husband: Matt) and Kayla Brier (husband: Collin); and 4 great-grandchildren, Cooper and Courtney Sims, and Molly and Mason Brier. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, an infant daughter, Charbra Diane Coffman, and 2 sisters, Lillian Cox Bever and Anita Berdine Cox Fix. Visitation will be at Pine Village Christian Church on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon with Rev. Paul Stamm officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Attica, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Village Christian Church.
