Ancil "George" Bell

Ancil George Bell, age 70 of West Lebanon, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. George was born on November 25, 1952 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Guy and Mary Wayne (Matthews) Bell. George attended Seeger Memorial High School and later Lincoln Tech College. George was a certified water and well technician. He owned and operated Wabshea Well Service. George was a volunteer fire-fighter (F424) and trainer at the West Lebanon Fire Department. In his younger days, he owned and operated his own gravel pit and maintained his own equipment which led to many years of repairing and installing well components. George enjoyed going to car shows and driving his 1969 GTO Judge. He had a passion for fire-fighting and teaching fire safety. George was interested in both sides of his family history and talking about times passed. He attended Benson Chapel Church and Sunday School. George was a member of the Masons Fountain Lodge #60. George is survived by many friends, cousins, his fire-fighting family, and his Benson Chapel Church family. He had a big heart and was proud to say he lived on the same home place all his life. A celebration of life will be held at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon, 110 S High St, West Lebanon, IN 47991, on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon with Pastor Christina Bennett officiating and West Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department tribute. Inurnment will follow at Redwood Cemetery.
