James "Jim" H. Webb

James Herman Webb, age 71 of Williamsport, IN passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Danville, IL on October 24, 1939. He was the son of Charles William and Marita (Cronkhite) Webb. He was a 1958 graduate of Hoopeston high School and a 1963 graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He married Marva Jeanne Custer on June 3, 1967 in Hoopeston, IL. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1998. James worked for Joan of Ark in Hoopeston. Later in March 1977 he joined his father-in-law, Marvin Custer in Custer Insurance. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church, Farmers Mutual Hail, and Attica Eagles. He enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting and loved to fish. Surviving are, 3 children, Jason C. Webb of New York, NY, Christopher M. Webb (wife: Krista) of Veedersburg, IN and Elizabeth A. Sisson (husband: Bryan) of Evansville, IN; 2 sisters, Marilyn Webb (husband: Terry Casteel) of Salem, Oregon and Carolyn Schellhardt (husband: Tom) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Haley and Elise Webb, and 1 on the way; and special friend, Trudy Weaver of Attica, IN. James was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Monday, November 29, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with an Eagles service at 8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Don Williams and Jesse Stoner officiating. Interment will be at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church.
