Carolyn Jean (VanReed) Cole

Carolyn Jean VanReed Cole age 78, of Williamsport, died unexpectedly at 12:23 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born in Williamsport on July 17, 1932 the daughter of Orville and Hester Lockhart VanReed, they preceded her in death. She was married in Earl Park to Jack Cole and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Carolyn was a graduate of Williamsport High School and had been a member of the former Pence Christian Church. She and husband Jack farmed in the Williamsport area for over 50 years. She had also owned and operated an antique shop near Williamsport for several years and enjoyed auctions. Surviving with her husband are two daughters: Jackie (husband David) Henderson of Indianapolis and Jill (husband Randy) Swaney of Williamsport. Six grandchildren: Jamie (Jessica) Swaney, Jordan (Rebecca) Swaney, Pat (Stephanie) Cole, Carrie (Mike) Gossett, Sarah (Farley) Schalk and Andy Cole (companion Jenny Harrison). 11 Great-grandchildren: Bailey, Hannah, Miranda and Riley Swaney, Aubrey, Avery and Jack Cole, Emily and Joey Grundy, Eli Gossett, Tripp Schalk. Nieces: Vickie Davis and Connie Trolloppe. She was preceded in death by a son Steven Cole and brother Bill VanReed. The family will receive guests, Monday, November 15, 2010 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport with Pastor Cathy McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions to Judyville United Methodist Church/Toys for Warren County Kids Christmas, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
