Ruth Pauline (Campbell) Hancock, age 79 of West Lebanon, IN died at 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at her residence. Ruth was born on October 25, 1931 in Perrysville, IN. She was the daughter of Frank James and Sadie P. (Price) Campbell. She married John O. Hancock on May 10, 1969 in Mississippi. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2005. They had resided in West Lebanon since 1969. Ruth owned and operated a beauty shop for 20 years. She and her husband, John, owned and operated the New Stage One for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Dinner Club for 14 years and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Attica Post #3318. She loved to travel, read, and do jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards with her husband. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Verna Rae Haga of West Lebanon, IN; 4 sisters, June Hargrove (husband: Howard), Hazel Craft, Diane Rice and Rosie Weir; 1 brother, Walter Black (wife: Betty); 1 sister-in-law, Jeanie Ardire of West Lebanon; 4 grandchildren, Bill Haga (wife: Darcie), DeAnn Haga Starns, Charles W. Haga (wife: Andrea), and Kevin D. Haga; and 9 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, Charles Haga, and 2 brothers-in-law, Bert Weir and Elvin Craft. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. with St. Elizabeth Hospice Chaplain, Dwight Herin officiating. There will be a Ladies Auxiliary service at 2:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Soldiers from Above.
