Mary E. (Manus) Britton

Mary Eileen (Manus) Britton, age 72 of West Lebanon, IN died at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN. Mary was born in Williamsport, IN on February 1, 1938. She was the daughter of Moss and Julia (Stokes) Manus. She was a 1956 graduate of Williamsport High School. On July 7, 1956 she married Theodore Britton, Sr. in St. Louis, MO. He survives. They have resided in West Lebanon the past 50 years. Mary was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church, O.E.S. West Lebanon Chapter, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3318. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Surviving with her husband, Theodore, are 2 children, Diana Abolt (husband: Jeff) of Attica, IN and Theodore Britton, Jr. (wife: Annette) of Battle Ground, IN; 2 sisters, Linda Thorpe of Lafayette, IN and Edna Yost of Lafayette, IN; 3 brothers, Sam Manus (wife: Sandy) of Westville, IL, Bobby Dean Manus (wife: Carol) of Fort Wayne, IN and Dick Manus (wife: Lana) of TX; 8 grandchildren, Tina, Lisa, Stephen, Todd, Valerie, Teddy, Tyler and Katie; and 4 great-grandchildren, Cayden, Ashley, Gracie and Landen. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Britton, 6 sisters, and 1 brother. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Private inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice.
