Joy L. (Hensley) Skoog

Joy L. (Hensley) Skoog, age 44 of Fowler, IN died at 7:09 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central in Lafayette, IN. Joy was born on November 4, 1965 in Danville, IL. Joy was the daughter of Dale L. Hensley and Janet F. (Willett) Hensley. She was a 1984 graduate of Seeger High School. She had resided in Benton County the past 16 years. She was previously married to Doug Skoog. She worked as an administrative assistant for Tuthill in Brookston, IN. Joy was a member of the Fowler Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her children. She loved flowers and gardening. Surviving are, her mother, Janet Hensley of Williamsport, IN; 1 son, Nathaniel Skoog of Fowler, IN; 1 daughter, Trista Pitts (husband: Joe) of Wellington, IL; 1 brother, Steve Hensley of rural Attica; 1 sister, Diana Akers (husband: Dwain) of rural Attica; and 1 grandson, Lucas Pitts. Joy was preceded in death by her father, Dale Hensley, and grandparents, Hubert and Eulala Willett and John and Ova Marie Hensley. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Services will be there in the chapel on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rod Andrews officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
