Clinton Raymond Lake, age 71 of West Lebanon died at 11:30 am CST on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the VA Illiana Healthcare System in Danville, IL. Ray was born on July 2, 1938. He was the son of Clinton Randolph and Louise (Ping) Lake. He was a Warren County resident most of his life. He attended West Lebanon High School. On December 31, 1997 he married Beverly Johnson in West Lebanon at her brother, Kevin Johnson’s, home. Ray served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica, Tee Pak in Danville, IL and later as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office where he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post #259 Williamsport. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and was an avid photographer. He took a photographic history of West Lebanon. Ray was a people person, wanting to do for others before himself. Surviving with his wife, Beverly, are, 5 children, Raymond Lake (wife: Sue) of Homer, IL, Audey Lake (wife: Donna) of Georgetown, IL, Curt Lake and Terry Lake (significant other: Greg Thatcher) both of Danville, IL, and Debbie Hollowell (husband: Ricky) of TN; 7 stepchildren, Brad Reese and Troy Reese (wife: Michelle) of West Lebanon, IN, Greg Reese, Bobby Reese, and Carrie Castillo (husband: Ramone) of Attica, IN, Jami Harvey (husband: Mike) of Wallace, IN, and Jennifer Wells (husband: Dante) of Shadeland, IN; 1 brother, Greg Lake (wife: Dottie) of TN; aunt, Ruth Hutson of Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren and 1 due in June; and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his former wife, Juanita (Morlan) Lake, daughter, Christy Alesi, and sister, Anna Froedge. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from noon until service time at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steve Pearce officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
