Martha Louise (Herndon) Dispennett

Martha Louise (Herndon) Dispennett, age 82 of Pine Village, died at 6:40 am on Monday, September 7, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN. Martha was born on November 19, 1926 in Holcomb, MO. She was the daughter of Walter and Grace (Laxton) Herndon. She was a Warren County resident from her childhood. Graduating from Williamsport High School she went on to marry Robert “Bob” L. Dispennett on June 22, 1946 in Williamsport and Bob still shares his memories of her today. Martha is a member of the church of Christ and attended regularly at Williamsport. She was a homemaker raising three sons, was influential with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved the flower garden and had a passion for growing, canning and eating her tomatoes. She was also an avid Illinois basketball fan. Surviving with her husband, Bob, are 3 sons, Dave Dispennett (wife: Jean) of Lafayette; Dan Dispennett (wife: Jenny) of Fort Wayne; and Denny Dispennett (wife: Pam) of Pine Village; 1 sister, Nancy Uyeda (husband: Fred) of Indianapolis, IN; 9 grandchildren: Rob, Scott, Doug, Heather, Shannon, Ben, Sarah, Jon and Amanda; and 16 great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by 2 sisters, June and Joan, and 1 brother, Paul. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Services will be there in the chapel on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior with Preacher and grandson, Rob Dispennett officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
