Robert G. Edwards

Robert G. Edwards, age 82 of Marshfield, IN died at 12:25 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at The Waters of Covington. Robert was born on July 3, 1927 in Covington, IN. He was the son of Estal and Mary Helen (Kiser) Edwards. He attended Warren County schools and had been a Warren County resident most of his life. He married Wreatha Emma Long on August 4, 1956 in Warren County. She survives. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class on the USS Hornet. He worked for Ross Gear & Tool Co. in Lafayette as a machine operator for 38 years retiring in 1984. He liked to tinker and work on small engines. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Surviving with his wife, Wreatha, are, 3 sons, David G. Edwards (wife: Brenda) and Darrell W. Edwards (wife: Karen) both of Marshfield, IN, and Dennis A. Edwards (wife: Gwen) of El Campo, TX; 1 sister, Beverly VanPelt (husband: Robert) of Marshfield; 2 step-brothers, Tom Edwards of Covington, IN and Lee Edwards (wife: Nina) of Chicago, IL; 6 grandchildren, David M., Tim J., Ashley, Emily, Zack, and Matt; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, Courtney and Evan; and several step-great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by 1 son, Duane Edwards. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Services will be there in the chapel on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 am with Paul Kent officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery.
