Ann L. (Hoskins) Van Leer

Ann L. (Hoskins) Van Leer, age 79 of Marshfield, IN, passed away surrounded by her loving family at 7:47 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Ann was born on January 27, 1937 in Potomac, IL. She was the daughter of Fred and Louise (Wells) Hoskins. She was a graduate of West Lebanon High School and was a lifelong resident of Warren County. On July 31, 1955 she married Richard “Tuffy” Harold Van Leer near Johnsonville, IN. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2014. Ann worked at General Electric in Danville, IL. She attended the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene. She and her husband, Tuffy, were inseparable. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to sit and cross stitch, and also do her gardening and canning. Surviving are, 3 children, Nancy Jane Van Leer of Williamsport, IN, Laurie Ann Van Leer-Sturgeon of Perrysville, IN and Harold Wayne Van Leer of Williamsport, IN; 1 sister, Patsy Hobaugh of Covington, IN; 9 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.  Ann was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, Chasity “Sis” Russell, great-granddaughter, Autumn Star, and 3 siblings, Fred Hoskins, Jr., Joyce Humphreys, and Dale Hoskins. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon, IN on Monday, January 16, 2017 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Allen officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
