Carol R. (Simonton) Edgar

Carol R. (Simonton) Edgar, 74, of Ashdown, AR, and longtime West Lebanon and Attica, IN resident, passed away May 1, 2016. Mrs. Edgar was born October 17, 1941 in West Lebanon, Indiana to Theodore W. and Rosamary (Gee) Simonton. She lived in Attica for 20 years from 1962 until 1983 when she became a resident of Ashdown, AR. She first married James Lucas on June 30, 1962 in Attica, IN and they later divorced. She then married Jerry L. Edgar in Rockville, IN on April 11, 1982 and he survives. She enjoyed various craft hobbies. Carol was a homemaker and had previously worked at Kroger in Attica, IN and later in the Lafayette area. She attended West Lebanon schools and later graduated from Arkansas High School. She She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Edgar of Ashdown, AR; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Renee Lucas II of Ashdown, AR; George W. Lucas of Williamsport, Indiana, Jerry F. and Sara Edgar of Jacks Isle, AR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Anthony Hicks of Plano, TX, Lisa and Randy Gates of Montezuma, Indiana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Theodore and Joyce Simonton of Rockville, Indiana, Harlan and Teresa Simonton of West Lebanon, Indiana; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Larry Bennett of Paint Rock, TX, Joyce Mortimer of West Lebanon, Indiana, Brenda and John Castleman of Ashdown, AR; nine grandchildren, Britney Mitchell, Natasha Jackson, Meagan Lucas, Larissa Lucas, Samantha Edgar, Jamie Lucas, Jerry Wayne Edgar, Shania Lucas, Justus Lucas; six grandchildren; two very special adopted daughters, Jo Ann Martin of Lockesburg, AR, Laure Lloyd of Ashdown, AR; and two chihuahuas, Peanut and Lil Bit. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Graveside service will immediately follow at West Lebanon Cemetery.
