Martha J. (Byers) Fox

Martha J. (Byers) Fox, age 78 of Williamsport died at 5:30 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at her residence in Wheatfield, IN. Martha was born on September 23, 1930 in West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Laurel and Margaret (Shields) Byers. She was a 1948 graduate of West Lebanon High School and was a lifelong resident of Warren County. On June 20, 1948 she married Kenneth E. Fox in West Lebanon. He survives. Martha was a past recorder for Warren County. She was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and at the election polls. She also served on the Washington Township Advisory Board. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very involved in their activities. She enjoyed cross stitching and reading. She loved her dog, Duchess. Surviving with her husband, Kenneth, are 3 children, Vicki Maple (husband: Steve) of Wheatfield, IN, Diana Myers of Valparaiso, IN, and Gary Fox (wife: Tammy) of South Bend, IN; 6 grandchildren, Eric Maple (wife: Carly), Stephanie Ingram, Shanna Pogue (husband: Tim), J. Troy Myers (wife: Tonya), Jessie Fox, and Justin Fox; and 4 great-grandchildren, Emma Maple, Brock Maple, Ava-Grace Pogue, and Cooper Myers. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas Fox, and 1 brother, Benny Byers. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT. Services will be at the West Lebanon Christian Church on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. EDT with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
