Joyce A. (Sells) Davis

Joyce A. (Sells) Davis, age 89 of Williamsport, IN died at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Joyce was born on April 14, 1926 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Horace E. and Roxy (Robbins) Sells. She was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School. She married Arnet Earl Davis on December 26, 1945 in Williamsport, IN and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2001. Joyce also lived in Indianapolis, IN, Muncie, IN and Cleveland, OH. Joyce worked in the office at Sunshine Farms Dairy in Lafayette, IN and served as the librarian for 27 years at the Williamsport-Washington Township Public Library retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church where she taught children’s Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Guild, Warren County Historical Society, Fun Bridge Club, Unique Club and an honorary retired member of the Psi Iota Sorority. She enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home, library and hospital. She loved to read and play bridge. Surviving are, 2 sons, Gregory A. Davis of Lexington, KY and B. Scott Davis (Mary Pat) of Brentwood, TN; daughter-in-law, Vicki Davis of Williamsport, IN; 1 brother, Detro Sells (Bliss) of Vendora, CA; 5 grandchildren, Tony Davis (Jessica), Chris Davis, Matt Davis (Ali), Katie Davis Majors (Benji) and Brad Davis; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by 1 sister, Jewell Vaughn, 3 brothers, Ingelow Sells, Eugene “Pete” Sells, and Graden “Pid” Sells, and 1 son, Denny Davis. Visitation will be at Williamsport Christian Church on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Don Williams and Jesse Stoner officiating.
