Mary R. (Dirickson) Sells

Mary R. (Dirickson) Sells, age 85 of Williamsport died at 12:07 pm EDT on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Clarian Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. Mary was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on February 15, 1924. She was the daughter of Halbert and Estella (Weatherly) Dirickson. She lived in Mt. Vernon, IL, and Detroit, MI, moving to Williamsport in 1945. She was a 1941 graduate of South Eastern High School in Detroit, MI. She married Ingelow O. Sells on April 5, 1942 in Detroit, MI. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1978. Mary worked as a stenographer for the Warren County Extension office. She was the plant manager secretary for C & D Technologies in Attica retiring in 1987. Mary was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church, where she served on the Jr. Women Council and was a Sunday School teacher. She served as a 4-H leader in Warren County. She was a member of the National Appaloosa Horse Association, showing horses with her son, Lane. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid bowler. Surviving are, daughter, Lynn DeSutter (husband: R.A.) of Attica, IN; 2 sons, Larry Sells (wife: Melanie) of Westfield, IN and Lane Sells (wife: Tami) of Crawfordsville, IN; 8 grandchildren, Dan DeSutter (wife: Barbie), Ann Lipofsky (husband: Dan), Rod Sells (wife: Susan), Maddy Sells, Amber Sells, Skyler Sells, Stephen Sells and Molly Sells; and 5 great-grandchildren, Dylan DeSutter, Damon DeSutter, Dalton DeSutter, Sami Sells, and Jordan Sells. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ingelow, son, Lance Sells, 1 brother, Harold Dirickson, and 2 sisters, Esther Seitz and Fern Dunford. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm EDT. Services will be there in the chapel on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. EDT with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation or the Williamsport Christian Church.
