Jaxine "Fox" A. (Freeland) Zufall

Jaxine A. “Fox” (Freeland) Zufall, age 70 of Williamsport died at 1:44 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. Jaxine was born on November 15, 1944 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Raymond F. Freeland and Frances V. (Adwell) Freeland Vance. She was a Williamsport resident all of her life, graduating from Williamsport High School in 1963. On December 14, 1963 she married Larry L. Zufall on December 14, 1963 in Attica, IN. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2003. Over the years Jaxine worked for various places including, Million Seed Company, Wilson Barber Shop, Big Pine Real Estate, Montgomery Ward and part time at the Warren County Treasurer office. Before retiring she worked at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Williamsport for over 20 years. She had previously attended St. Francis Xavier Church. She was active in the startup of the St. Vincent Hospital Guild where she served over many years in different capacities. She earned the Sagamore of the Wabash award and served on the Warren County Democratic committee. She loved to do woodworking and enjoyed her flowers. Jaxine loved to go shopping and travel. One of her biggest enjoyments was being a 2nd mom to all of her children’s friends. Surviving are, 2 sons, Troy Raymond Zufall (Anna Jean) of Brownsburg, IN and Dustin Whan Zufall (Grace) of West Lafayette, IN; 1 daughter, Tamra Lea Zufall-Hughes (Mike) of Williamsport, IN; 1 sister, Sharon Strickland (Ronald) of Williamsport; 7 grandchildren, Ashlyn N. Zufall, Lauren T. Zufall, Austin Parker, Alyssa A. Gouty, Kristen E. Weathers, Nathan M. Gouty, Evan M. Lin-Zufall; and 4 great-grandchildren. Jaxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Robert Lee Freeland. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Summer Ball Program.
