Charley E. Thomas, Jr., age 92 of Lafayette, IN and longtime resident of Warren County, IN, died at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette, IN
Charley was born near Tab, IN on April 15, 1923. He was the son of Charley E. and Grace (Lawman) Thomas, Sr. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1941. He resided in Warren County, IN before moving to Lafayette, IN in 1974. In 2013 he moved to St. Elizabeth Health Care in Delphi, IN. On April 11, 1954 he married Mary Ann Willoughby in Columbus, MS. She preceded him in death on November 27, 1999.
Charley worked as a union electrician. He served in the US Army during World War II. He enjoyed John Deere antique tractors and loved his dogs.

6 grandchildren, Tony Liggett (Kathryn), Chris Cavender, Jeffrey Bucklin, II (Jessica), Abigail Thomas, Sam Thomas, and McKenzie Bucklin
1 great-grandchild of Jakob Liggett
Charley was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, George W. Thomas and Gerald “Leroy” Thomas, 1 sister, Frances Hewitt, infant brother, infant sister, and 1 great-grandson, Cole Liggett.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Locust Grove Cemetery with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hoosier Burn Camp.
