Ronald Lee Kirby, age 76 of Williamsport, IN, died at 5:29 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
Ron was born in Williamsport, IN on June 16, 1939. He was the son of Robert Russell and Fern (Cronkhite) Kirby. He graduated from Seeger High School in 1960. He first married Evie M. (Long) Brooks. On February 29, 1968 he married Rosemary J. (Orahood) Turner and they had celebrated their 47th anniversary.
Ron was an avid golfer and IU Fan. He had belonged to Big Pine Golf Course and Harrison Hills Country Club. He was a member of the Pine Village F & AM and the Williamsport Christian Church. He began his life in printing trades while still in high school, working for the Smith family at the West Lebanon Gazette. He joined the National Guard before he began his 20 year employment at Recording & Statistical in Danville, IL. In 1978, he and Rosemary opened Warren Graphics, a print shop in Williamsport, which they owned and operated for 25 years.
Surviving with his wife, Rosemary, are 1 son, Randy Lane Kirby (Margaret) of Titusville, FL; 1 daughter, Ronna Lynn (Kirby) Gillespie of West Lebanon; 1 step-son, Daniel Joe Turner (Marlene) of Terre Haute, IN; 1 stepdaughter, Nadine Que (Brooks) White of Melbourne, FL; 6 grandchildren, Aaron Michael Gillespie, Zachary Allen Kirby, Nicole Terese Kirby, Elijah Albert Woodrow Turner, Jessica Lynn Gillespie, and Megan Louise Kirby; 4 great-grandchildren, Caden, Ryleigh, Bryson, & Kaci; 1 sister, Cheryl Jean Ballow of Williamsport, IN; 5 aunts, 2 nephews, 1 niece, and several cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Robert Lewis Kirby, and one infant sister.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with F & AM services at 7:45 p.m. Services will be in the chapel on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Joe Bell and Greg Tyra officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation Community Grants Fund.
