Albert "Dude" C. Farrar

Albert “Dude” C. Farrar, age 79 of West Lebanon, IN died peacefully at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dude was born in Boswell, IN on November 11, 1935. He was the son of Earl and Florence (Hunnicutt) Farrar. He attended West Lebanon schools. He lived briefly in Benton County, living in West Lebanon most of his life. On September 29, 1961 he married Judith A. White in West Lebanon. She preceded him in death on August 15, 1996. Dude was an ironworker for 27 years working for Lafayette Local 379 and Brenner Well Drilling. He and his brothers, Wes and Les, also ran a wrecker and auto repair business in West Lebanon. He enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball. Dude enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and wildlife hunting. He served as a volunteer on the West Lebanon Fire Department for over 50 years and the Warren County Rescue over 20 years. He was a member of the Fairview Sportsman Club in Oakwood, IL for 55 years, serving on the board for over 30 years. Dude spent many years of his life butchering deer and swine, roasting hogs for several friends in the community. Surviving are, daughter, Tonya K. Farrar of West Lebanon, IN; son, Wayne E. Horton (wife: Sandy) of Fort Pierce, FL; special friend, Tammy Towle; brother, Melvin Farrar (wife: Pat) of Williamsport, IN; sister, Ada James of West Lebanon, IN; 3 grandchildren, Stormi Butler (Randy), Tabetha Horton, and Shawn Horton (Kerri); and 10 great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Olyvia, Karleigh, Marleigh, Caden, Bryce, AnnaRea, Aubrey, Destiny, and Gabby. Dude was preceded in death by 6 brothers, 7 sisters, and infant son, Eric Clayton Farrar. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Trafford officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Lebanon Fire Department or the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene.
