Rovene (Hutts) Kennedy

Rovene (Hutts) Kennedy, age 87 of Williamsport, IN, went to be with the Lord at 1:03 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN. Rovene was born on July 21, 1927 in Kingman, IN. She was the daughter of Earl C. and Susie L. (Scott) Hutts. She graduated from Kingman High School in 1945. She was a Warren County resident since 1945, living in Williamsport since 1989. On August 19, 1967 she married Miles A. Kennedy in West Lebanon. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2010. Rovene was member of the Williamsport Christian Church, a 50 year member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge, and the Community Hospital Guild. She worked for Olin Manufacturing Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1978. Rovene loved gardening, reading, cooking and baking. She was well known for her pies. She helped serve funeral dinners at her church for many years. Surviving are, 2 daughters, Glenna Johnson (husband: Mike) of Lafayette, IN and Shirley Jean of Williamsport, IN; 1 brother, John Hutts (Opal) of Bloomington, IN; 6 grandchildren, Jill Sillery (Bruce), Adam Johnson (Regina), Misty Bossaer (Jason), Marcus Jean (companion: Jessica Craft), Lisa Budreau (Roger), and Carmen Jean; 18 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Rovene was preceded in death by a brother, James Hutts, son-in-law, John Jean and great-grandson, Andrew Jean. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church or donor’s choice.
