Martha Beth (Ward) Steele

Martha Beth (Ward) Steele, age 88 of Ogden, UT, formerly of Warren County, IN, died at 12:30 p.m. MST on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. Beth was born in Hedrick, IN on July 4, 1920. She was the daughter of Floyd and Martha (Phegley) Ward. She was a West Lebanon High School graduate. She later graduated from Business College. She married Ray W. “Tex” Steele on June 1, 1941 in West Lebanon, IN. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1996. Beth has resided in Ogden, UT since 1997. Beth worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Pine Village Christian Church. She enjoyed visiting and helping people and was a fine knitter. She had a great love for animals. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Gay Medina of Ogden, UT; 1 son, Rex Steele (wife: Pegge) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 1 grandchild, Andres Medina (wife: Julie) of Ogden, UT; and 2 great-grandchildren, Shyenne Bishop and Antonio Medina of Ogden, UT. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. EST until service time at Noon EST with Rev. Cathy McCoy officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fountain County Animal Shelter.
