Rosemary "Rosie" (Brown) Brenner

Rosemary “Rosie” (Brown) Brenner, age 90 of Williamsport, IN died at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rosie was born on February 1, 1925 near West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Clem A. and Cannie (Myers) Brown. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School and a lifelong resident of Warren County. On October 12, 1946 she married Hugh Morton “Pete” Brenner in Kentland, IN and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1986. Rosie worked as a telephone operator and bookkeeper, worked in Lorenz Brown Insurance office, was Auditor of Warren County, was County Clerk for Warren Circuit Court, Director of Elderly services at Community Action of Western Indiana and finally Alpha XI Delta House mother for 11 years. Rosie was a member of Williamsport Christian Church and OES #62 of Williamsport and West Lebanon #162 receiving her 50 year pin. She was a Euchre Club member and choir director for many years and sang in a quartet at the Williamsport Christian Church. She was an avid Purdue women’s basketball fan while a housemother; especially enjoying the celebration of the 1999 championship. She received the Distinguished Hoosier Award presented by Dale Grubb in 2009 for all of her community involvement. Rosie had a great capacity to love everyone and especially made each grandchild feel like they were special. Surviving are, 3 sons and 1 daughter, twins, Randall Brenner (Peggy) and Cannie Sue Inman (William “Bill”) both of Williamsport; twins, Warren Kent Brenner (Marianne) of Lafayette and William Kim Brenner (Dee) of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Olive Brown of Plymouth, IN. Rosemary was preceded in death by stepson, Larry Brenner, grandson, Luke Hutchison, 3 brothers, Clarence Brown and wife, Susie, Clem A. “Bud” Brown, and Carl E. Brown and wife, Betty. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with OES services at 7:45 p.m. Services will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church.
