Betty Jane (Church) Lanham Benge

Betty Jane (Church) Lanham Benge age 64 of New Ross, IN, formerly of Warren County, IN, died at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Waters of Covington where she had resided since 2008. Betty was born in Glasgow, KY on December 4, 1950. She was the daughter of Jewell Church and Marie (Moran) Church Horn. She graduated from Attica High School in 1968. After graduation she lived in Warren County, New Jersey, Indianapolis, and Montgomery County. She married James E. Lanham, Michael Brooks, and Virgil R. Benge who preceded her in death on February 2, 2015. Betty worked at several restaurants and as a manager at several mini-marts. She enjoyed watching Purdue and Nascar and was a Jeff Gordon fan. She was an excellent seamstress and was very active with her grandchildren. Surviving are, mother, Marie Horn of Attica, IN; children, Bryan Lanham (wife: Melissa) of Warren County, IN and Melissa “Missy” Lanham (companion: Fred McDonald) of Attica, IN; stepchildren, Samuel Travis (wife: Karen) of Crawfordsville, Sarah of New Ross, IN, and Sally (husband: Lee) of Tennessee; sister, Judy Church Nolan (husband: George) of Attica, IN; 1 niece and 1 nephew; 10 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Jewell Church, stepfather, Robert Horn. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 rom 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Elder Henry Bell, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at New Ross Cemetery in New Ross, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waters of Covington.
