Clara (Clark) Lee Hillyer

Clara (Clark) Lee Hillyer, age 90 of Williamsport, IN died at Aperion Care in Peru, IN at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 where she had been a resident since January 2011. Clara was born on February 29, 1924 in Covington, IN. She was the daughter of Charles E. and Winona (Shaffer) Clark. She was a 1941 graduate of Attica High School. She had lived in Catlin, IL since 1955 before moving to Williamsport in 1984. She married Henry E. Lee on September 23, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1982. She later married S. Wayne Hillyer on April 24, 1984. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2012. Clara was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ in Illinois. She worked for Harrison Steel Casting Company, General Electric, Peterson Puritan, and Catlin True Value. She enjoyed going to rummage sales, mushroom hunting, and especially watching her grandchildren play sports. Surviving are, 1 son, Jim Lee (wife: Sherry) of Owasso, OK; 1 stepdaughter, Andrea Kay Hammersley (husband: Richard) of Peru, IN; 1 stepson, Randall Wayne Hillyer (wife: Cathy) of Lafayette, IN; 4 grandchildren, Tony Hillyer of Clarks Hill, IN, Jason Hammersley of Benson, NC, Brad Hammersley of Peru, IN and Richie Lee of Owasso, OK; 8 great-grandchildren, Kaleb Hammersley, Blake Hillyer, Rachel Hammersley, Lucas Hammersley, Destiny Ancil, Ashley Ancil, Brandy Smith and Brook Smith; and 1 great-great-grandson, Payton Smith. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST (Indiana time). Visitation will also be on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from noon CST (Illinois time) until service time at 1:00 p.m. CST (Illinois time) at the Catlin Church of Christ in Catlin, IL with Minister Darren Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Catlin Church of Christ, American Breast Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
