Frances I. (McCain) Cole

Frances I. (McCain) Cole, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Rachelle, in Dallas, GA. Frances was born in Palestine, IL on November 13, 1926, the daughter of the late Ansel McCain and the late Beulah (Sollars) McCain. She graduated from high school in Anderson, IN, and on December 28, 1945, married Dorian Eugene Cole in Attica, IN. She will be remembered for her legacy of selflessness and determination to put other’s needs above her own. In Hutsonville, IL she was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a Cub Scout den mother, and led Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girl groups. She loved needlecraft and had a passion for teacher others. She created collectible dolls called the “Beautiful Blue Butterfly Collection,” and made dolls and hospital gowns for children facing surgery. Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Dorian. She is survived by: 2 sons, Dorian Scott Cole (Sheila) and Barry Cole (Roxann) both of St. Peters, MO, 3 daughters, Marsha Loudermilk (Kenny) of St. Peters, MO, Cheryl Shavel (Richie) of Leland, NC, and Rachelle Talbot of Dallas, GA; sister, Dorothy Newlin of Robinson, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, IN conducted by the Grady Funeral Home with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
