Robert "Bob" R. Wittig

Robert “Bob” R. Wittig, age 101 of Danville, IL died at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Bob was born in Danville, IL on March 21, 1913. He was the son of Fred and Ruby (Swires) Wittig. He attended Danville High School and was a Danville resident most of his life. He married Lenora (O’Conner) on June 30, 1932 in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death. Bob worked for the Commercial-News for 30 years and was chief photographer when he left. He loved being a photographer and working with electronics. He enjoyed golfing. Surviving are, 1 son, Robert L. Wittig of Alvin, IL 1 daughter, Alice Brunette (Gary) of Casa Grande, AZ 1 step-sister, Mary Louise Ernstmyer of Chatsworth, CA 6 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lenora, and 3 step-brothers. There will be no services.
