Esther L. (Swanson) Foxworthy

Esther L. (Swanson) Foxworthy, age 92, of Williamsport, IN passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family where she had been a resident for 2 years. Esther was born on March 13, 1922 to the late John and Ellen Larson Swanson. She is survived by two brothers, Ralph and Wilbur Swanson, who reside in Attica. On September 15, 1954 she married Everett Foxworthy and lived on the family farm near Pence where they raised their four children. Esther attended school at Tab and Boswell before graduating from Williamsport High School. Esther worked at the aluminum plant (ALCOA), before moving to the family farm. She was a member of the Attica Lutheran Church before moving to Pence where she then joined the Pence Methodist Church and later attended Williamsport Methodist Church. She became very involved in her church and raising her children. Esther was a league bowler at Shawnee Lanes for many years and was an active member of the Warren County Republicans and the Hoopeston Moose Lodge. Everett and Esther also enjoyed square dancing for several years. Esther enjoyed listening to and watching Cubs baseball. She was a great cook, but also enjoyed eating out while visiting with her friends. Esther was a proud mother and grandmother and her favorite activity was to spend time with her family. Their pictures were often shared with her many friends. Esther is survived by her four children; Alice (Rick) Foster of Danville, IN; John (Chris Reed) Foxworthy of Pine Village, IN; Karen Foxworthy of Crawfordsville, IN; and Nancy Scott of Frankfort, IN; 8 grandchildren, Ryne and Ty Foster, Reed and Ethan Foxworthy, Faith (Landon) Maroska, Amanda Scott and fiancé Ranger Runyon, Erin and Elizabeth Scott; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Lucas and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett; and two infant twin grandsons. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Activity Department.
