Kay L. (Titus) O'Connor

Kay L. (Titus) O’Connor, age 72 of Fowler, IN died at 4:41 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. Kay was born on April 28, 1942 in Walton, IN. She was the daughter of Clark H. and Lora H. (Sumsel) Titus.  She attended school in Onward, Walton and Logansport.  Kay previously lived in Onward, Logansport, Buck Creek, Lafayette, and Brookston before moving to Fowler in 2002.  She married Lawrence S. Humphrey in 1959 and they divorced. She later married William M. O’Connor in 1981.  They divorced.  She later was engaged to Robert "Bob" Dale Darnell and he preceded her in death.   Kay worked as a waitress, babysitter, nurse’s aide, and a chef cook mostly in the Lafayette area.  She was a member of the VFW #1134 Lafayette. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards, camping, family get togethers with cookouts, and listening to country and western music.  Surviving are, 4 children, Anita Kay Howe (husband: Fred) of Monticello, IN, Brenda Collins (husband: Doug) of Delphi, IN, Jerry Humphrey (wife: Julie) of Lafayette, IN and Lora Davis (husband: Jim) of Pine Village, IN; 3 step-children, Robert Jake Darnell (wife: Michele), Cathy Darnell, and Larken O’Connor all of Lafayette, IN; brothers and sister, Judith Charlene Richardson (husband: Jess) of Florida, Joe Frances Titus (wife: Ava) of Logansport, IN, Danny Clark Titus (wife: Minnie) of Logansport, Richard Allen Titus (wife: Lynn) of Elwood, IN; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  Kay was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Larry J. Titus and Ron Titus, son, Larry David Humphrey, step-grandson, Corey Darnell, grandson, Jeremiah David Humphrey, infant great-granddaughter, Eve Elizabeth Humphrey, and daughter-in-law, Melissa Ann Humphrey. The family would like express special thanks to her niece, Becky Matthews for all the care she gave to her aunt. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.   Services will be there in the chapel on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
