Howard W. Hickman

Howard W. Hickman, age 92 of Covington, formerly of Marshfield, died at 6:20 P.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at The Waters of Covington. Howard was born on August 28, 1915 near Marshfield, IN. He was the son of Jesse Howard and Emma (Taylor) Hickman. He attended Covington High School. On March 16, 1938 he married Louise Tremaine. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2008. They had resided in Marshfield until 1993 when they moved to Covington. Howard was a farmer. He retired in 1980. Many years ago he drove a school bus for West Lebanon for 4 years. He was a member of the Marshfield Presbyterian Church. Howard enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are, 1 son, Darrell Hickman (wife: Lillie Mae) of Covington; 1 daughter, Janice Brazeal (husband: Darrel) of Newport, IN; 3 grandchildren, Sharon Grady (husband: Mikel) of Williamsport, Greg Hickman (wife: Carrie) of Danville, IL and Mark Hickman (wife: Megan) of Chicago, IL; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan Hickman and Emily and Shawn Grady; 1 brother, Lloyd Hickman (wife: Carolyn) of Covington; 1 sister, Evelyn Bever of Covington; 1 half-brother, Merle Hickman of Kingman, IN; and 1 half-sister, Carol Zink of Otterbein, IN. Howard was preceded in death by 1 brother, Max Hickman and 1 half-sister, Betty Hickman. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. EDT. Services will be there in the chapel on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. EDT with Pastor Judi Geistlinger officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
