Dorothy "Dottie" Louise (Liebegott) Shaw

Dorothy “Dottie” Louise (Liebegott) Shaw, age 63 of Lafayette, IN and formerly of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a 28 year battle with cancer at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at IU Health in Lafayette, IN. Dottie was born on November 13, 1949 in Louisville, KY. She was the daughter of Walter A. and Eleanor Bernadine (Chasteen) Liebegott, Jr. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School in Louisville, KY and had later attended the University of Kentucky. Dottie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her nieces and nephews. Dottie liked to travel and enjoyed the Kentucky Derby festivities. She enjoyed shopping and her collections. Surviving are, 1 sister, Linda Jenkins (husband: Richard) of Pine Village, IN 1 brother, Walter “Junie” Liebegott (wife: Debbie) of Bardstown, KY 2 nephews and 4 nieces Dottie was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N Preston Highway, Louisville, KY on Friday, November 15, 2013 from noon until 8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at noon with President Ricky McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Louisville, KY. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Latter-day Saints in Williamsport, IN on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with President John E. Haddock officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
