Arlene (Howie) Eades

Arlene (Howie) Eades, age 79 of Independence, MO formerly of Pence, IN died at 9:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at her daughter’s residence. Arlene was born on October 27, 1928 in Tilton, IL. She was the daughter of Harrison T. and Grace (Richards) Howie. She attended Collett School in Danville, IL. On December 29, 1947 she married Brent Eades in Danville, IL. They were married for 50 years before he preceded her in death on December 2, 1997. Arlene lived in Pence for 27 years before moving to New Johnsonville, TN where she lived for 23 years. For the past year she had been living with her daughter in Independence, MO due to failing health. Arlene was a member of the Assembly of God in Hedrick while she lived in Pence and a member of the First Assembly of God in Waverly while in TN. She loved baking, pies, cinnamon rolls, and hot rolls were her specialties. She was very dedicated to church, singing and reading the scriptures. Surviving are, 4 sons, David Eades of Terre Haute, IN, Ronnie Eades and Ricky Eades of New Johnsonville, TN, and Jerry Eades of Indianapolis, IN; 2 daughters, Donna Royster of Independence, MO and Brenda Eades of McEwen, TN; 4 stepsons, John Eades of Downs, IL, Kenneth Eades of Bismark, IL, George Eades of Danville, IL, and William Eades of Defunick Springs, FL; 2 stepdaughters, Marilyn Fowler of Grand Rivers, KY and Shirley Baker of McEwen, TN; 5 brothers, Art Howie of Danville, IL, Harold Howie of Tilton, IL, Don Howie of Ashmore, IL, Dale Howie of Littleton, CO, and Richard Howie of Chattanooga, TN; 1 sister, Dorothy Evans of White House, TX; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Eades, a son, Paul “Skeeter” Eades, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. EDT until service time at 1:00 P.M. EDT. Rev. Dan Koening and Pastor Phil Bilyeu will be officiating. Interment will be at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN.
