OBITUARY (For Immediate Release) Dateline: Williamsport, IN 47993 Fredrick “Chubs” Carl Rothrock,age 90, of Williamsport, IN died at 5:03 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Fred was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 9, 1923. He was the son of George Washington and Hyacinth (Parker) Rothrock. He moved to Williamsport where he attended Williamsport schools. He then moved back to Indianapolis before moving to Monticello, IN where he worked for Indiana Beach for 13 years. While he was there he married Madeline Gordoff and they had 4 daughters, Ruth Ann, Doris, Diane, and Marsha. From those daughters he has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Madeline divorced and he moved back to Indianapolis where he married Lois Gregory on October 14, 1956. She survives. From that marriage he had 4 children, Linda Barnett (husband: David) of Monticello, Cindy Jo Rothrock who preceded him, Tina Bratton (partner: Jeff Davis) of Danville, IL, and Ricky Rothrock (wife: Betty) of Williamsport. From those children he has 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Fred also has 1 brother, Leroy Rothrock, Sr., and 1 sister, Georgatte Eidson of Florida. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister-in-law, Maxine Martin Rothrock, and 1 brother-in-law, Robert Eidson. When Fred and Lois came to Williamsport they purchased Hersh Beetle’s restaurant and operated it for one year. He then worked for the Attica Brickyard with his brother Leroy Rothrock, Sr. and later worked for C & D Battery where he retired after 36 years. After retirement he worked for the Town of Williamsport mowing for one year. Fred attended Williamsport United Methodist Church for many years and had most recently attended Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church. He was a Golden Age Eagle member at lodge #2596 Attica. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and listening to Elvis. He loved IU basketball and WWE. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, September 1, 2013 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Cathy McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport.
