Rita Ann Hoskins

Rita Ann (Shelato) Hoskins, age 65 of Pence, died at 7:17 P.M. EST on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Rita was born in Danville, IL on July 26, 1942. She was the daughter of Glenn Ervin and Dorothy Mae (Hathaway) Shelato. She was raised in Westville, IL and graduated from Westville High School in 1960. She moved to Pence, IN in 1975. On January 12, 1964 she married Thomas Edward Hoskins in Georgetown, IL. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2006. Rita was a member of Jordan Chapel in Pence. She enjoyed quilting and arts and crafts. Rita especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. Surviving are, 2 daughters, Mae Dimmitt (husband: Bill) of Tilton, IL and Minda Lister (husband: Bill) of Rossville, IL; brother and sister, Jerald Shelato of Westville, IL and Mary Andrews of Danville, IL; 2 granddaughters, Rebecca and Kathleen Lister; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, daughter, Renita Ilene Hoskins, sister, Carol Mahoney, and brothers, Brian Shelato and Aden Serepin. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. EST. Services will be there in the chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. EST with Minister Fred Sigle officiating. Interment will be at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
