Joseph Harding Hackler

Joseph Harding Hackler, age 98 of Williamsport, died at 6:42 P.M. EST on Friday, April 18, 2008 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Joseph was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee on March 5, 1910. He was the son of Dowl and Nancy (Thompson) Hackler. He lived in Rockford, IL from 1924 until 1972. He married Anna Coole in Rockton, IL on September 16, 1967. They lived in Sweetwater, TN and had been a resident of Williamsport since 1976. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2005. Joseph worked as a machine operator and tool grinder for Borg Warner Corp in Rockford, IL for over 25 years. He attended the Judyville United Methodist Church. Joseph enjoyed raising horses, especially quarter horses receiving several trophies and awards. Survivors are, 1 daughter, Virginia “Gini” Ann Siple (husband: Sam) of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren, James Crowe, Teressa Russell, Kimberly Suess, and Susanne Snider; 8 great-grandchildren, Braxton Russell, Annalea Russell, Tyler Snider, Lyndsey Snider, Deric Suess, Derin Suess, Dylan Crowe and Conner Crowe; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Leona Ruth Fry and Bob and Ruth Bargren, both of Rockford, IL. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 1:30 P.M. EST until service time at 2:30 P.M. EST with Pastor Darrell Harris officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judyville United Methodist Church.
