Joe N. Kiger, age 91 of Williamsport, IN, died at 8:43 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Jordan Township, Warren County, IN on March 14, 1922. He was the son of Ralph and Doris (McKee) Kiger. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County and graduated from Williamsport High School in 1938. He married Betty Jane Borst on September 4, 1948 in Williamsport, IN. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2009. Joe served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a Warren County farmer, a co-owner of Kiger-Wright Development Company, and driver for Birkey’s Farm Store. He was a self taught clock repairman. Joe was a member of the Pence Christian Church for over 60 years and current member of the Williamsport Christian Church. He was also a member of the Warren County Economic Development Board, VFW Post #3318 Attica, American Legion Post #259 Williamsport, and F & AM West Lebanon Lodge #352. He was an avid clock collector and golfer. He was very active in helping develop Big Pine Golf Course. Surviving are, 3 children, Jim Kiger (fiance: Linda Emery) of West Lebanon, IN, Connie Gray (husband: Steve) of Alexandria, IN, and Jeff Kiger of Rochester, MN; 7 grandchildren, Chris McKinney (wife: Natalie), Bryan McKinney, Caleb Gray (fiance: Jill Thor), Isaac Gray, Jacob Gray, Fiona Kiger, and Max Kiger; 6 great-grandchildren; and extended family, Andy Briles & family, Brian Beheler & family, Steve Clark & family, and the Maple Cove Gang. Joe was preceded in death by his son, John Mark Kiger, brother, Kenny Kiger, and sister, Marie Ducker. Visitation will be at Williamsport Christian Church on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church.
