Robert D. Wagner

Robert D. Wagner, age 87 of Williamsport, IN died at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on April 25, 1925 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Harry M. and Lucy G. (Fenters) Wagner. He was a lifelong resident of Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1943. Bob married Janice Joy Parton on May 20, 1948 in Attica, IN. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2002. Bob served in the U.S. Marines. He retired from Warren County REMC as general manager in 1996. He attended the Williamsport Christian Church. Bob had served on the Williamsport High School board, and was an active member of the American Legion Post #259 Williamsport where he was past commander, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3318 Attica. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports fan. Surviving are, 2 daughters, Rebecca Jo Ehler (husband: Kenneth) and Polly Ann Morgan (husband: Jim) both of Williamsport, IN; 1 son, Robert T. Wagner (wife: Debra) of Williamsport, IN; 1 sister-in-law, Alta Wagner of Williamsport, IN; 5 grandchildren, Jan E. Briles (husband: Andy), Kimberly J. Havel, Kyle D. Wagner (wife: Anne), Katie S. Mickle (husband: Dustin), and Jessica M. Morgan; and 10 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Morton and Richard “Shad” Wagner, and twin grandchildren, Tavis and Brynn Morgan. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Services will be there in the chapel on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospice or St. Vincent Home Health.
