Dorotha V. Miller

Dorotha V. (Amick) Miller, age 94 of Williamsport, died at 7:50 P.M. EST on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St. Anthony Health Care in Lafayette, IN. Dorotha V. Miller was born March 14, 1913 in Henning, Illinois. She was the daughter of Leslie and Lena Amick. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1932. Dorotha had two brothers, Howard and Estel Amick and one sister, Helen Sharff, all deceased. She married Kenneth J. Miller on June 22, 1935 and they lived happily together for 72 years until his death on August 8, 2006. Dorotha is survived by their four children: Ura Leslie Miller of Kingman, Karen Dian Miller of Indianapolis, Bertie Jane Buchanan of West Lafayette and Kenneth J Miller II of Chicago, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Kenneth and Dorotha were preceded in death by their grandson, Timothy E. Miller in 1985. Dorotha was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and O.E.S. Jordan Chapter #242. She joined her husband in many community activities and will be remembered for her work with the 7th District Democratic Party as well as the Seeger Memorial High School Scholarship Funds. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, March 8th from 5:00 to 8 P.M. EST. Viewing will be Sunday, March 9th at 1:00 P.M. EDT with services to follow at 2 P.M. EDT with Rev. Don Williams officiating. (Please be aware of time change Saturday night). Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seeger Memorial High School.
